Determining Whether Fractions Are Equivalent By Division
Although fractions may have different numbers in the numerators and denominators, they may still be equal to each other.
In this lesson we will cover how to determine whether fractions are equivalent by using division.
As you may know, fractions indicate division. We can calculate the decimal values of a fraction by dividing the numerators by the denominators.
The resulting quotient will be the decimal form of the fraction. If both fractions give the same decimal form, then the fractions are equivalent.
Let’s look at an example.
